The Great Global Adventure www.greatglobaladventure.com, which closes on 9 March 2015, has already attracted more than 200,000 visits, with 20,000 students and recent graduates playing the game. Players travel the world on the virtual platform, answering questions and puzzles as they go, with the highest scoring participants entering regional heats.
The winners of the regional heats will then compete to take the top-prize: a year’s all-expenses paid round the world trip including two internships with AXA in one of the 56 countries in which the firm operates, and a chance to work alongside one of the Group’s volunteering partners.
Those shortlisted will be required to submit a 140 character status update that describes why they would be the ideal candidate to win the ultimate prize, and to participate in video interviews with a panel of judges.
AXA has launched the game to help raise its profile among graduates who have an international outlook and help attract potential recruits. The company operates in 56 countries, employs 157,000 people and needs to attract a new generation of leaders who think beyond the constraints of their own country boundaries.
Insurance is also increasingly based on analysing big data and satellite imagery to track and predict risks such as extreme weather, natural disasters and health and demographic changes that will impact on insurance cover and pay outs to individuals and businesses.
Finding people with excellent analytical skills and an interest in, and understanding of, geographical and demographical trends and international business means finding new ways to attract and recruit talented people across a wide range of commercial disciplines, from actuarial and financial management to HR and marketing. The Great Global Adventure enables AXA to talk to large number of job candidates who may not have previously thought about a career in insurance or asset management.
