AXA UK & Ireland today announces that Alain Zweibrucker will join as Chief Executive Officer of AXA Retail on 2 January 2024, subject to regulatory approval. Alain will also be a member of the UK & Ireland Management Committee and will report to the UK & Ireland CEO, Tara Foley.
Alain has worked at AXA for 25 years and has held senior property & casualty insurance roles in a number of markets. He joins AXA UK & Ireland from AXA Switzerland, where he was Chief Financial Officer and a member of the company’s Executive Committee for the past seven years. During his time there, he led on transformation to deliver growth and earnings in line with AXA’s groupwide strategic plan and drove capital management initiatives, including the development of a third-party asset management business model. Alain started his career as an actuary at AXA Portugal before moving to an AXA Group role in Paris as Property & Casualty Actuary Director and then to AXA Germany for roles as Head of Financial Control, Chief Risk Officer and Head of Property & Casualty Retail.
Alain will take over from AXA Retail Interim CEO Anna Fleming who will return to her former role as Chief Operating Officer at AXA Retail. Tara Foley was previously CEO of AXA Retail before being appointed CEO of AXA UK & Ireland in September 2023.
